Barley Grass Seed
Our Barley Grass seed is grown on the fertile West Lancashire plains without the use of any fungicides or pesticides, and as part of a land management & Wildlife enhancement program.
Barley Grass is a broad blade grass with a lighter green colour compared to wheatgrass. It is consumed by many people in the form of a dry capsule called “Barley Green”. It is also popularly grown for pets to nibble on, and makes a great juice.
Barley Grass Juice
A potent food containing live enzymes (unlike powder and capsule forms), the juice is quite intense in flavour. We recommend mixing it with other grains – our preferred blend is with wheat at a rate of around 5:1 (20% Barley).
It is said that Barley Grass has 30 times more vitamin B1 and 11 times the amount of calcium in cow’s milk. 6.5 times as much carotene and nearly 5 times the iron content of spinach. Close to seven times the vitamin C in oranges and with 80 micrograms of vitamin B12 per 100ml. It packs a punch!
